What happens in the show?
A sad, sleepwalking man in pyjamas has forgotten how to dream so he asks for help from the kids to use his DIY dream machine. We meet Randy the Dinosaur Explorer, Harry Bow the fun-averse policeman and a malfunctioning robot.
What did you like most about the show?
“When Mr Sleepybum opened the crisps and they flied everywhere! All the boys and girls were hitting him with pillows and we were laughing.”
Was there anything you didn’t like?
“No. Is Mr Sleepybum sleepwalking again tomorrow?”
What did your grown-up think about the show?
Jody Kamali speaks to children very well, he is fun without it feeling fake, inviting the kids to chuck socks and whack him, which they all got very into. Grown-ups will appreciate the jokes about soul-sapping trips to soft play and old Nokia phones.
Would you tell your friends to go to the show?
Yes – 45 minutes of controlled chaos from a talented clown.
Mr Sleepybum’s Dream Machine, Assembly Roxy, until 17 Aug (not 13, 14), 10.40am
